VACANCY 1; Director, Medical & Community Services

Core purpose of the job; 

 


  • FHI 360 is seeking a qualified candidate for the position of Director of Medical and Community Services on a planned project funded by USAID to improve the quality and effectiveness of evidence-based HIV / AIDS interventions for Achieve the specific objectives of the state and the LGA and objectives.
  • The Director of Medical and Community Services will report to the Deputy Chief of the Party and lead the design and implementation of the delivery components of the program (clinic and community).
  • S/he will lead the implementation of program design to ensure quality service delivery in accordance with national and international standards and guidelines.
  • S/he will be the technical lead for the implementation of the program.
  • S/he will direct the use of program data for program improvement and promote learning and sharing of best practices and lessons learned.
  • S/he will support all technical program staff and manage any clinical and community issues in the program.


Core responsibility of the job is to;



  • Conduct technical design, monitoring and follow-up of activities for HIV prevention, care and treatment activities.
  • Provide technical leadership in demand creation to maximize HIV testing and counseling and create linkages.
  • Responsible for leading community engagement (leaders, youth, households and men) to expand knowledge about HIV testing.
  • Responsible for strengthening community and facility-based health delivery structures to maximize eligibility for ART and retention in care and treatment.
  • Contribute to providing accurate and detailed technical deliverables and reports to meet USAID reporting requirements.
  • Supervise a team and contribute to the implementation of the annual program and plans.


Discipline Required;


  • A master's degree in epidemiology, public health or a related discipline or Medical Doctorate (M.D.) or equivalent (D.O. or non-American equivalent of M.D.)
  • Eight years of experience in the design and implementation of public health programs, particularly HIV / AIDS, tuberculosis and maternal, newborn and child health (MNCH) in developing countries. In-depth technical knowledge and experience in all elements of the HIV / AIDS program, including prevention, treatment, care and support, HIV / TB of PMTCT, OVC and cross-cutting areas such as The strengthening of health systems (HSS).
  • Professional level of oral and written proficiency in English.
  • Significant experience in relevant program management or technical consulting functions in complex health projects in Nigeria.
  • Expertise in HIV care and treatment activities.
  • Knowledge of community-level challenges in care and treatment delivery. Previous experience in collaboration with community caregivers and community support groups.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of gender and development, and demonstrated experience and mastery of gender mainstreaming.
  • Demonstrated ability to design and implement strategies that use evidence-based approaches to achieve project objectives, particularly in a timely manner.
  • Experiment with work and collaboration with various stakeholder groups, such as local NGOs, government officials, donor representatives and international staff.
  • Proven leadership, interpersonal and intercultural skills, and the ability to build and motivate diverse teams.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.

Core purpose of the job;


  • FHI 360 is seeking a qualified candidate for the position of Director, Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning on a USAID-funded project to improve the quality and effectiveness of high-impact HIV / AIDS interventions based on Evidence to achieve the goals specific to the state and LGAs and objectives.
  • The Director of Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning will report to the DCOP and will lead the design and implementation of the monitoring and evaluation framework for the program and the information system to monitor implementation Objectives, outcomes and impacts.
  • S/he will direct the analysis of data collected for the assessment of progress and areas for improvement, guide the reporting processes among technical staff and consolidate program reports, promote learning and knowledge sharing of best practices and Lessons learned.
  • S/he will support all technical staff in the M & E functions and will manage all M & E related staff in the program.


Core responsibility of the job is; 

 


  • Lead the design, development, planning and implementation of project knowledge management strategies. This includes the development and dissemination of tools, materials, reports, documents and research related to the intervention;
  • Provide technical leadership in the design and implementation of M & E systems and be responsible for the overall management of strategic information;
  • Leading and providing technical inputs to improve and facilitate the provision of strong technical assistance in M ​​& E;
  • Develop and implement appropriate guidelines to support USAID / Nigeria, Government of Nigeria (GON) counterparts and USAID implementing partners to conduct M & E and reporting , Contribute to national data collection and reporting systems, ensure data quality;
  • Analyze data sets and technical evaluation results; Develop and monitor work plans;
  • Work closely with the program team to ensure compatibility and coordination in M ​​& E, and consistency with national and donor requirements;
  • Focus on strengthening the M & E system, building the capacity of partners and staff, and improving alignment and support to host country M & E systems; and
  • Conduct periodic reviews of M & E systems in programs and / or countries and participate in the planning of M & E system strengthening actions. Provide advice on information systems for M & E. Quality, as well as documentation and best practice reports.

Discipline Required; 

 


  • Candidate should possess a minimum of master’s degree in Epidemiology, Public Health, Bio-statistics or a related discipline.
  • Candidate should possess at least seven years of experience in designing and implementing monitoring and evaluation activities for public health programs in developing countries, practical experience with HIV / AIDS programs is preferable.
  • Strong control of M & E issues in improving the quality of integrated services and support programs.
  • Excellent writing of reports, analytical and communication skills, including oral presentation skills and extensive knowledge and experience in reporting requirements of USG / PEPFAR.
  • Extensive experience in knowledge management and dissemination of research results.
